Holmes Chapel: 81
Canute2: 48
Hornets win first round of the Cup
A strong defensive performance by Holmes Chapel laid the foundation for a comfortable victory. Canute 2 were restricted to 12 first quarter points and the trend continued throughout the game with Johnson the only player to score well for the home team with 20 in the game. The Hornets offence worked well throughout the game but the score in each quarter only partially reflected this as shots which would normally fall did not and breaks which should have been finished ended scoreless. In a good all-round team performance, Andy Rushton shone at both ends, shutting out Canute’s main threat and scoring in every conceivable way to end with 30.

Hi Chaps,
You’ve made a typo on this match report - “Rainford: 48″, should be “Canute 2: 48″
