I was lucky enough to be invited to the Cheshire East Sports Recognition Awards this year and was amazed to be told that I’d been nominated for an award. You can only imagine my delight when I was told that along with a coaches from Macclesfield Boxing Club and Macclesfield Trampolining Club that I’d receive a Recognition Award for my coaching.
I don’t coach for any personal reward other than to spread the celebration of a game that I’ve enjoyed passionately for years, but even so it was gratifying to be the recipient of this prestigious award.
I really would like to think that the award reflects the huge strides forward the club, as a whole, has made in the past couple of years and that is due to the efforts of quite a few people in the club and not just me. We now have a thriving Youth section, a number of quality coaches, the best table officials and Web site in the whole of MABL along with a team that can truly claim to be the best produced to date.
I don’t know who nominated me, and I guess I’ll never know, but I would like to thank you for providing me with an evening that left me feeling humble and very proud.
Having said all that now get down to training you lazy bunch of slackers there’s a league and a cup to be won this year!!
Keep dribbling

Gregg
You look very tall in the photo.
At least 10 foot tall.
Are you standing on tip toes or have you stretched since I last saw you.

Not sure about being 10 feet tall Gary - but maybe it does explain my ability to out rebound you!!!!
