At Holmes Chapel, we have a philosophy that says "if you are on the bench you will play". This means that players must be fit and ready at all times.
The only way to achieve this is through practice; Know what the offensive and defensive patterns are and where you fit in.
In defence, don't relax; always threaten the player with the ball and talk to your teammates about players that they can't see.
Block out rebounders every time.
On offence, be a threat; always look to score if you are free. But if you are not free, keep passing the ball to find a free player.
In the end, it all comes down to a winning spirit - the team that wants to win most probably will.
